Overview

ICL is a major manufacturer of compounds used in the metal processing industry. Our self-extinguishing fluids are used in special hydraulic systems of furnaces for aluminum and steel melting, and as lubricants in hot metal manufacturing. ICL’s phosphoric acid, phosphate coatings, and phosphate specialties play a critical role in metal treatment and processing, where they are used to clean and improve surface appearance and improve hardness and electrical properties. They also provide corrosion resistance and enhance the adhesion of paint to metal surfaces. Potassium chloride is used to manufacture potassium hydroxide, potassium metal, and more.

The treatment of metal surfaces with phosphoric acid or phosphate salts provides a phosphate coating of insoluble metal phosphate.
