We are proud to present the ICL Corporate Responsibility (ESG) Report for 2023, which demonstrates that we achieved much more than financial performance in the recent year.
We continue to lead as a specialty minerals company that provides solutions for some of humanity’s most pressing challenges. Our vision to create positive impact on our world drives us forward, as we aim to make significant impact by creating solutions that allow safe progress for humanity.
Sustainability for us means ‘doing the right thing, in the right way, every day’. Building upon this foundation, in 2023 we proudly embraced the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as ICL’s guiding principles. The SDGs encapsulate our vision for a better future and serve us as a compass, directing our actions towards meaningful impact. By integrating the SDGs into everything we do, we strive to drive progress for our people, business partners, communities, and the planet. We recognize that our unwavering commitment to excellence, transparency, and accountability must be an ongoing journey requiring strong partnership with all of our stakeholders.
Our Contribution to Food Security
From our Fertilizers business
ICL is at the forefront of the global effort to combat world hunger and is making a substantial impact on food security, feeding approximately 400 million people every day. As a key player in fertilizer production for agriculture
and specialty solutions used in the food industry, ICL significantly contributes to nutritional security by enhancing agricultural output, improving food quality, and extending shelf life

Our products
As a global company, we take full responsibility and care for the products we produce and sell. Product stewardship is an inherent part of ICL’s operations and applies throughout all stages of product life, from extraction of raw materials, through the use phase, and up to the end of a product’s life.

Sustainability goals for 2030
Greenhouse gas emission
Absolute GHG emissions scope 1, 2, reduction of 30% by 2030 (2018 as the baseline) and becoming carbon neutral by 2050 with respect to Scope 1 and 2 emissions.
Employee responsibility
Promoting personal environmental responsibility and creating social impact through volunteer work and social development programs.
Renewable energy usage
Increasing the share of renewable energy consumption to 50% by 2040 (2018 as the baseline)
Achieve and sustain market leadership
Maintaining and improving our rankings in sustainability and ESG indexes.
Circular economy
In 2023, ICL increased its circular economy impact by achieving a 4% reduction in freshwater use and enhancing recycling of waste streams across its operations.
Environmental organizations
Keeping an open channel of communication with the world’s leading environmental organizations.
Sustainable procurement
Promoting Sustainable Procurement as part of the TfS initiative with an annual target of 1,000 TfS validated suppliers.
Social investment
Giving back to communities by contributing 1% of our annual earnings to social responsibility goals and community initiatives.

Environmental Performance: Commitment and Progress
ICL is committed to mitigating our environmental impact, and we are thrilled to share our progress in this area. We have achieved an impressive 18% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions compared to our 2018 baseline. Additionally, we have made a commitment to the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), further increasing our dedication to setting ambitious goals and pursuing sustainable solutions for a better future.

Global Crisis Response
At ICL, we believe in leveraging our resources and expertise to make a positive impact in times of crisis around the world. In response to the crisis in Ukraine we actively participated in various initiatives aimed at providing relief and aid to those in need. ICL swiftly dispatched our dedicated rescue teams to Turkey following a severe earthquake as first responders, our teams worked tirelessly to provide immediate assistance and support to the affected communities, showcasing our unwavering dedication to humanitarian efforts.
Giving Back to Our Communities - Making a Difference
ICL is committed to our communities. We are proud to contribute $14.5 million, to support social causes and initiatives that create a positive and lasting impact. We actively engage with our communities, collaborating with local partners, and encouraging our employees to volunteer their time and skills to create a better future for all. In 2022, our employees reached 60,000 of volunteering hours. We firmly believe that by working together, we can achieve meaningful and lasting change.
Greener energy solutions
ICL plans to build a LFP cathode active material manufacturing plant in St. Louis, Missouri. The plant is expected to be the first large-scale LFP material manufacturing plant in the US and is designed to produce high-quality LFP material for the global lithium battery industry, as ICL Leads the efforts in U.S. to Develop Sustainable Supply Chain for Energy Storage Solutions, with $400 Million Investment. The LFP plant represents a significant expansion of ICL’s energy storage portfolio and demonstrates the company’s commitment to developing high-quality specialty products for agricultural, food and industrial applications.
