Over the past year, we continued to advance ICL’s strategy, focusing on delivering essential solutions that address the world’s greatest challenges. We have evolved from a mineral-based company into a solutions-driven organization, leveraging our knowledge, innovation, and technology to create meaningful value. Greenhouse gas emission

Reduce absolute Scope 1 & 2 GHG emissions by 30% by 2030 (using 2018 as the baseline) and achieve net zero by 2050 (Scope 1 & 2). Following SBTi validation, and while maintaining our legacy 2030 target, we set near-term targets of a 58.8% reduction in Scope 1 & 2 emissions and a 35% reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2034 (using 2022 as the baseline).

Promoting personal responsibility and creating social impact through volunteer work and social development programs

Renewable energy usage

Increasing the share of our low carbon and renewable energy consumption to 50% by 2040 (using 2018 as the baseline).

An average annual reduction of 4% in freshwater use and an average annual reduction of 2% in low quality water use (using 2022 as the base line).

Sustainable procurement

As part of the TfS initiative, target 1,240 TfS-validated suppliers in 2026.

Social Responsibility and Communities

Giving back to communities in which we operate by contributing 1% of our annual earnings towards social responsibility and community initiatives.

Product carbon footprint

Implement additional phases of our strategic plan to expand coverage of our automated life-cycle analysis digital transformation.

Air emission reduction

A reduction of 3% in suspended particulate matter by the end of 2026 (using 2023 as the baseline)

Green products

Increase revenues from sustainable products, with a focus on specialty products, supported by the advancement of our Scope 3 reduction plan.

Safety

A reduction of 4% in IR compared to our previous three-year average.

Waste reduction

An average annual reduction of 2% in landfill waste (Haz & Non Haz) and an average annual reduction of 3% in Hazardous waste (using 2022 as the baseline).

Women in senior management

Women holding a minimum of 27% of senior management roles by the end of 2026 and 33% by the end of 2030

Energy Efficiency Improvement

Achieve continuous year-over-year improvements in our energy efficiency, with a 2026 target of a minimum 1% improvement compared to our 2025 energy consumption.

Global Crisis Response

Greener energy solutions

ICL plans to build a LFP cathode active material manufacturing plant in St. Louis, Missouri. The plant is expected to be the first large-scale LFP material manufacturing plant in the US and is designed to produce high-quality LFP material for the global lithium battery industry, as ICL Leads the efforts in U.S. to Develop Sustainable Supply Chain for Energy Storage Solutions, with $400 Million Investment. The LFP plant represents a significant expansion of ICL’s energy storage portfolio and demonstrates the company’s commitment to developing high-quality specialty products for agricultural, food and industrial applications.

Site-level CSR Reporting Milestone

In 2007, ICL achieved a significant milestone by publishing its first site-level CSR report, showcasing its commitment to transparency and accountability at the site level.

2009

Sustainability Advancement in Product Development

In 2009, ICL made progress in advancing sustainability in product development by developing a Sustainability Index for Product R&D, guiding the company towards more sustainable solutions. It also completed its first full carbon footprint assessments for several products, aiming to measure and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

2011

1st Carbon Reporting and GHG Inventory

In 2011, ICL made significant strides in carbon reporting and inventory management. It published its first Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Carbon report, demonstrating transparency and environmental stewardship. ICL also reported its first annual greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory to the voluntary reporting scheme in Israel.

2015

Embracing UN Sustainable Development Goals

In 2015, ICL aligned its sustainability efforts with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, integrating them into strategic planning and operations. This commitment focused on areas such as climate action, responsible consumption and production, and partnerships for sustainable development.

 Ashalim Creek Restoration Efforts

In 2017, ICL took charge of the restoration efforts following the Ashalim creek accident, emphasizing environmental responsibility. The Company worked collaboratively to restore the creek and minimize the impact, as well as re-opening it to the public in 2018.

2018

Transitioning to Natural Gas for GHG Emission Reduction

In 2018, ICL transitioned its Israeli site to natural gas, marking a significant step towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This proactive measure aligned with the Company's ambitious GHG emission reduction targets was a stepping stone towards further sustainability commitments.

Trailblazing TCFD Disclosure and Sustainability-linked Loan (SLL)

In 2021, ICL published its first Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), incorporated in its annual report, showcasing transparency, and climate risk management. ICL also announced a new €250 million sustainability-linked loan (SLL), demonstrating its dedication to sustainability by setting ESG key performance indicators into financial strategies.
